ABOUT THE FRIENDS
The Friends of the Reading Public Library is a separate, non-profit 501 (c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to enhancing library services in the town of Reading. Each year we provide the library with roughly $40,000 to deliver programs not funded by the town.
Our mission is to:

provide enriching programming to support community interest;

supplement library funding received from the town;

support our talented library staff.

We meet at 7 p.m. the fourth Monday of the month, September through June.

Form 990 is the Internal Revenue Service (IRS)’s designation for the tax return that most public charities are required by law to submit annually. This form is used by the IRS to assess the non-profit organization for its compliance with tax.
